| First of all! BUY an old bicycle, don't steel it! Give attention to SIZE & *DROP-OUTS* |
| Prepare the tools. |
| Prepare yourself. Hoody, Oakley sunglasses, green camo cap :) |
| … next … REMOVE ALL! - *Maybe not the bartape, save work* :) |
| Remove front & rear derailleur, chain, saddle, bar tape *(maybe not *g*)* ... |
| Sure you have the right drop-outs? |
| Remove the cassette. |
| All needs to be cleaned a bit. |
| More tools. |
| Find your right cog size. *You should use the bike for a week, allways using the same gear for the whole day, and see what ratio you need* |
| Fill up the freewheel body with spacers and tighten the cog. *Spacers can be found in old cassettes or you local bicycle shop, they are different for Campagnolo or Shimano!* |
| Half time. |
| Mount the rear wheel. |
| Trash. |
| Bring the smaller chainring to the front if you aren't sure which ratio you need. *Dont use any Biopace chainring - won'nt work!* |
| Tighten all chainring bolts very well. |
| May you will need a flat washer. |
| Shorten the chain. |
| Give attention to the cainline. *Fixed-gear and Singlespeed hubs have a chainline of about 40-42 mm centerline of the frame/hub to center of the sprocket.* |
| Find the right chain tension. |
| If you haven't the right drop-outs, you will need a chain tensioner. |
| Mount a cool vintage saddle like this white Flite. |
| A new fancy bar tape. |
| Finishing |
| Trash |
| Alternate setup. |
| Add stickers and a bottle cage holder … |
| Your new Singlespeed bicycle is ready, now let's have a beer … |
